Audi Q5 (2025-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Sharp styling | Expensive to buy |
| Practical interior with lots of space | Complex infotainment system |
| Polished driving experience | Average warranty coverage |
Quick Summary
The Audi Q5 (2025-present) is a premium family SUV that combines upmarket styling, powerful yet efficient engines, and exceptional practicality. Available in standard five-seater and coupe-like Sportback bodystyles, it features either a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol or 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine, both producing 201bhp with 48-volt mild hybrid technology and all-wheel drive. A plug-in hybrid e-hybrid variant offers around 60 miles of all-electric range. The latest generation benefits from an extended wheelbase, providing enhanced interior space and comfort for all passengers, with rear seats that recline in three positions and slide forwards and backwards on S line models and above.
The Q5 delivers a polished and satisfying driving experience with responsive handling, well-weighted steering, and excellent grip. Boot capacity stands at 520 litres (515 for Sportback), expanding to 1,415 litres (1,473 for Sportback) with seats folded. Fuel economy is respectable, with petrol versions achieving 37-40mpg and diesel models 44-47mpg in WLTP tests. Interior storage is plentiful, and the driving position offers excellent comfort with supportive seats and extensive adjustment. However, the infotainment system is complex to navigate, and the Q5 commands a premium price starting around £50,000, placing it in the luxury car tax bracket.
Best for: Buyers seeking a premium family SUV with sharp styling, practical space, and a polished driving experience, or those prioritising comfort and refinement for long-distance motorway driving.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers, those seeking simplicity in infotainment controls, or drivers wanting the most responsive handling compared to rivals like the BMW X3.

The Verdict
You should buy the Q5 if: You're seeking a premium family SUV with sharp styling, exceptional practicality, and a polished driving experience, or prioritising comfort and refinement for long-distance travel.
Consider alternatives if: You're budget-conscious, seeking simplicity in infotainment controls, or want the most responsive handling dynamics available in this segment.
Competitive Position: The Audi Q5 (2025-present) remains a strong contender in the premium SUV market, offering sharp styling, practical space, and a polished driving experience. Whilst the BMW X3 delivers more responsive handling and the Volvo XC60 scores higher on user satisfaction, the Q5 holds its own with excellent build quality and refinement. Chinese rivals like the Omoda 9 may offer more equipment at lower prices, but lack the proven reliability and prestige of the Audi badge. The Q5 justifies its premium positioning through its comprehensive package of practicality, style, and driving polish.

What people say
This car is not in suitable condition to be sold at the current price, as the S tronic gearbox is 27,000 miles overdue for a mandatory service from Audi every 40k miles. The dealership is asking the customer to pay for this service, despite it being significantly overdue, this is an act of clear dishonesty. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the dealership is legally obligated to ensure that any vehicle offered for sale is in proper and roadworthy condition. By knowingly selling a car in this state, they are in breach of the law.
The audi q5 has excellent features. And is good value for money. Dose not seem to be missing anything.
There are a few problems with this car, but at this price I expected that. They are small things that do not stop it's use as a good car. I will have fun trying to solve any problems!
It's a good-looking car, and I love it so far. I'll have to drive it for a while to get a better idea of how it performs. I have always had an Audi and it never disappointed.
This is the car that i wanted it drives very well and looks good on the road
