Only just bought it but seems to fit the bill with decent range and performance and buying second hand with low mileage saves £10k

Kia e-Niro (2019-2021) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Fantastic to drive | Expensive to buy |
| Good value for a long-range EV | Bland styling |
| Roomy interior and a big boot | Interior starting to look dated |
Quick Summary
The Kia e-Niro (2019-2021) is a front-wheel drive family hatchback with electric power and a hint of small SUV styling. Available with either a 64kWh or 39kWh battery, it delivers impressive real-world range of up to 250 miles or 150 miles respectively. The larger battery achieves over 300 miles in summer months, making it one of the longest-range EVs on the market. Charging via a home wallbox takes less than 10 hours for the bigger battery, whilst rapid charging delivers an 80% charge in under 40 minutes. The e-Niro is exceptionally efficient, achieving around four miles per kilowatt-hour, outperforming rivals like the Volkswagen ID.3 and Peugeot e-2008.
With a 451-litre boot and practical interior layout, the e-Niro is an excellent family car. The 204bhp 64kWh version accelerates from 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds, whilst the more affordable 136bhp model manages 9.5 seconds. Both versions offer outstanding refinement, predictable steering, and smooth regenerative braking. The cabin is comfortable and logically designed, featuring an eight or 10.25-inch touchscreen with satnav, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. A 2020 facelift introduced a redesigned dashboard and improved equipment levels. Servicing is required every 12 months or 10,000 miles, with fixed-price plans available. On the used market, the e-Niro represents tremendous value, with prices significantly lower than when new.
Best for: Budget-conscious buyers seeking an affordable, long-range electric family car with excellent practicality and reliability, and those wanting impressive efficiency and low running costs.
Not ideal for: Buyers prioritising striking design or cutting-edge interior styling, or those seeking the shortest service intervals available on the EV market.

The Verdict
You should buy the e-Niro if: You're seeking an affordable, long-range electric family car with excellent practicality, reliability, and impressive efficiency, or looking for outstanding value on the used EV market.
Consider alternatives if: You prioritise striking design or the latest interior styling, or require the shortest service intervals available on the EV market.
Competitive Position: The Kia e-Niro (2019-2021) is a standout in the affordable electric family car segment, offering exceptional range, practicality, and driving dynamics. Whilst the Skoda Enyaq matches it for expert rating, the e-Niro delivers superior user satisfaction and significantly better value deals. It outperforms the Nissan Leaf in both expert and user ratings, and offers more range and practicality than the Hyundai Kona. The e-Niro's combination of long range, roomy interior, efficient powertrain, and strong reliability reputation make it one of the finest used EVs available, particularly for budget-conscious families seeking genuine value.
