Drives well, good fuel economy for the weight considering it’s petrol powered. Rather rapid, very well built.

The only thing I can fault on this amazing machine is the Bluetooth media player occasionally doesnt connect but it just gives you another reason to wind down the windows and listen to the symphony produced by Porsches amazing 4.8 GTS V8

Porsche Cayenne (2018-present) Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Brilliant to drive | Divisive styling |
| Tremendous performance | Costly to run |
| Spacious and practical | The smaller Porsche Macan is more agile |
Quick Summary
The Porsche Cayenne (2018-present) is the third-generation model of this upmarket high-performance SUV, featuring a new platform, turbocharged V6 engines, modern styling and comprehensive equipment. It's up to 65kg lighter than its predecessor whilst offering a more spacious interior and larger 770-litre boot. The range includes the standard Cayenne with a 335bhp turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, the Cayenne S with a 435bhp twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6, and performance variants including the GTS, Turbo and Turbo S E-Hybrid. A sleeker Cayenne Coupe was introduced in 2019, alongside a track-focused GT model.
What truly sets the Cayenne apart is its ability to combine the space, practicality and comfort of a large SUV with genuine driving thrills. Even the entry-level model accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds, whilst the Turbo S E-Hybrid achieves this in just 3.8 seconds. The steering is quick and responsive, grip is strong, and the air suspension keeps body movements under control. Away from the road, the Cayenne is capable off-road with extended air suspension and multiple traction control settings. It's a five-star Euro NCAP safety performer and remains a high-quality, high-performance SUV that handles daily and family life effortlessly.
Best for: Drivers seeking an upmarket, high-performance SUV that combines space and practicality with rewarding driving dynamics, and those who value quality and capability across diverse driving conditions.
Not ideal for: Budget-conscious buyers, those concerned about fuel economy and running costs, or drivers who prefer more conventional styling and lower-profile vehicles.

The Verdict
You should buy the Cayenne if: You're seeking an upmarket, high-performance SUV that combines space and practicality with rewarding driving dynamics, and value quality and capability across diverse driving conditions.
Consider alternatives if: You're budget-conscious, concerned about fuel economy and running costs, or prefer more conventional styling and lower-profile vehicles.
Competitive Position: The Porsche Cayenne (2018-present) is a very talented upmarket SUV that stands out for its rewarding driving experience, impressive performance and spacious, practical interior. Whilst it commands a premium price and higher running costs than some rivals, its breadth of range means it can serve as a competitor to the Range Rover Velar or, in flagship trim, rival cars such as the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus. The BMW X5 edges ahead on expert rating, whilst the Range Rover Sport and Mercedes-Benz GLE offer strong user ratings. However, the Cayenne's combination of driving dynamics, performance and practicality makes it a compelling choice for those prioritising an engaging driving experience alongside luxury and capability.
