| Spacious boot by class standards | No hybrid option |
| Composed and comfortable ride | Some owners complain of squeaks and rattles |
Quick Summary
The Seat Arona (2017-present) is an attractively styled small crossover SUV that combines practical family-friendly design with engaging driving dynamics. Built on the Ibiza platform with added ground clearance and a taller body, it offers surprising interior space for its compact dimensions. The 400-litre boot exceeds that of a Volkswagen Golf, whilst the cabin features quality materials and modern infotainment systems, including smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The facelifted 2021 model introduced an upgraded 9.2-inch display option.
The Arona delivers a well-balanced driving experience with composed handling, accurate steering, and minimal body roll. Engine options include the popular 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit in 95bhp or 110bhp variants, alongside earlier 1.5-litre TSI and 1.6-litre TDI diesel engines. All versions achieve fuel economy exceeding 50mpg officially, with real-world figures around 50-60mpg depending on driving style. CO2 emissions remain below 120g/km, and resale values are respectable at 42-48% of original value after three years. Insurance groups range from 8E to 18E, making it competitively priced to own.
Best for: Younger buyers with or without families, those seeking stylish design with practicality, and drivers wanting personalisation options through colour and trim choices.
Not ideal for: Buyers requiring diesel engines (post-2021 models), those seeking hybrid technology, or drivers sensitive to potential interior squeaks and rattles.

The Verdict
You should buy the Arona if: You're seeking stylish design with practicality, value personalisation options, or want an easy-to-drive small crossover suitable for families and younger buyers.
Consider alternatives if: You require diesel engines (post-2021 models), need hybrid technology, or prioritise the finest driving dynamics of the Ford Puma.
Competitive Position: The Seat Arona is a strong contender in the crowded small crossover market, offering an attractive package of style, on-road ability, equipment, and practicality. Whilst the Ford Puma and Skoda Kamiq edge ahead in expert and user ratings, the Arona delivers excellent value at the lower end of the range with generous standard equipment. Its light controls, spacious boot, and composed ride make it particularly appealing to younger buyers and families. The Arona represents one of the best small crossovers available, combining aesthetic appeal with genuine usability and reasonable ownership costs.

(3 reviews)Great car, very good value compare to other comparable small SUV's
Car was fine. My previous car was Seat Ibiza so I know the car very well. Just one problem there was no service stamps on the service book?
Nice super mini SUV ,It is a seat ibiza raised up to look like a SUV, interior is a little more spacious than you think, unfortunately i am 6 feet tall and well rounded so when drivers seat back enough for me to be comfortable there will be no room in the rear seat for a passenger. Limited engine options . great for around town but a little under powered if using motorways . Having said this if i was 5ft 8 inches and slim then i would recommend this car without any hesitation.
