Great instrument panel, nice shape but being under 5 ft the wing mirror was too close after my seat adjustment

This car fulfilled all my requirements. I cycled with friends so I needed to put my bicycle in the back of the car in order to meet them at the various places we had decided to cycle around. It was comfortable to transport my wife and myself long distances, eg 100s of miles to visit friends and relations. Its music system was good. I would not have sold this car, it was sold behind my back, by my wife and son. The car was easy to drive and gave one confidence on the roads.

Great car to drive. Lots of safety features in a reasonably priced vehicle. Excellent for towing loads to 1900kg with this model/year (newer model has a lower towing capacity)

Quick Summary
The Toyota RAV4 (2026) is a sensible evolution of a popular family SUV, now exclusively available as a plug-in hybrid in the UK. With a generous EV range of up to 85 miles, owners can enjoy significantly lower running costs by utilising cheap-rate home electricity for everyday driving. The latest generation features bolder design inspired by the Toyota Land Cruiser, improved interior practicality with a commanding driving position, and an all-new ToyotaConnect infotainment system with a responsive 12.9-inch touchscreen. Measuring 4.6 metres long, it offers 446 litres of boot space with seats up, expanding to 1,690 litres when folded.
The RAV4 is fuss-free to drive with a comfortable, long-travel suspension that excels on rutted roads. The plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers 268bhp in front-wheel-drive form or 305bhp with all-wheel drive, achieving 0-62mph in 7.5 seconds or 5.8 seconds respectively. The GR Sport variant offers a firmer chassis tune for those seeking more dynamic handling. Toyota's acclaimed reliability, extended warranty options, and impressive claimed fuel economy of up to 217mpg make it a sensible choice for families seeking a practical, efficient SUV with modern technology and dependable performance.
Best for: Families seeking a practical, reliable family SUV with efficient plug-in hybrid technology, those prioritising low running costs through electric driving, and buyers wanting modern infotainment and safety features.
Not ideal for: Buyers seeking petrol or diesel engine options, those prioritising the most dynamic handling characteristics, or those looking for the lowest entry price in the family SUV segment.

Competitive Position: The Toyota RAV4 (2026) is a strong contender in the family SUV market, offering a compelling blend of practicality, reliability, and efficient plug-in hybrid technology. Whilst the Kia Sportage edges ahead with a higher expert rating and better value proposition, and the Volkswagen Tiguan scores marginally higher for user satisfaction, the RAV4 holds its own with superior reliability credentials and an impressive EV range.
